THE CRISIS OF PURPOSE
September 30, 2010
WORD: CONCEPT. I always say there is no need. However, in the world of those who appreciate aesthetics and eyes looking for true imagery in the department of taste-making, concepts are a part of just about everything. Nothing is just put together just to be left on the runway. There's always a reason. Even if the reason is just to make you drop your jaws. CAU's fashion did just that...

The aroma in the air is heavy with the scent of buttered popcorn, champagne, and liquored spirits of all sorts. A small select crowd of 150 people gathered to witness a moment in Pop Culture history that will paint the pages of music culture forever. This is the unveiling of a 35-minute film entitled “Runaway” from one of the most controversial and iconic figures in contemporary music. His name is Kanye West...

MAD PROPS TO THE AMATEURS & HAVE TO BES
April 02, 2011

You wanna talk the talk, get up and show me your walk. Morehouse's Mahogany - N - Motion dance troop had their final try outs and my only objective was to make a swag-tastic appearance in fine Burberry Prorsum. Before I hit the scene I knew there was no more dancing. When BLIND SPECS hit the floor the ladies came a prancing...

VISITORS
May 21, 2011

Photo: A photo from Kyle LaMere's VISITORS
There's so many people to thank once you realize that you've finally reached the "actual" beginning of whatever it is you've been trying to master. I keep everyone close to me once we've made contact. The BLIND SPECS team in any city doesn't have a scene because we're always something foreign and alien. Growing by simplified decades and working at early hours in the morning reminds us that having enough time requires a bit devotion to all of your Friday nights in the Chi. 2nd Fridays in Pilsen can take you on a joy ride. The next time you come to Chicago with nothing but a free spirit and free time and you want to submerge yourself in the creative population then this is your place to play.
2nd Fridays in Pilsen are monthly opening receptions at the galleries and artists' studios centered around South Halsted and 18th Streets in Chicago. The receptions begin at 6:00 pm and run until 10:00 pm. Placed right outside of the heart of Chicago it's like a playground the creative types. Kyle LaMere, photographer for BLIND SPECS promotional photos had occupied a studio for the release of his first photography book called "VISITORS." The perks of Pilsen locals were the spice that made the night that much more intense, and DJ Antonio lit the night up with dubstep and jump start your heart. The walls were covered with Kyle's work and nobody could get away with just walking by.This is what Friday nights are made for.

BURTON & THEGOODLIFE! PRIVATE PARTY
May 27, 2011

PHOTO: Couple of the Night - German Nieves & Lou Lund
I had no shame in taking the subway all the way from Jamaica, Queens. I sat through the 9-5 crowd, chatted with some business execs, and hopped off with the rest of the curators out of the Spring St. station. Walking into editors - in - chief along with being recognized for having superb taste - Excuse me, I had to take a quick power nap. Earlier I was too busy creating an empire in Brooklyn; fly ladies, me and a Sony Nex-3. My position was to act as Sian-Pierre's right-hand man and stroll with the Swagger: New York team. A faux fur hat on my head and a cup of Sailor Jerry in everyone's hand. Believe me when I say Mercer Street was on fire for a Wednesday night!
